Giacomo Santiago Rogado
Landis & Gyr Stiftung Residency
Giacomo Santiago Rogado was born in 1979 in Luzern and now lives and works in Berlin. He is a painter who creates bold compositions reminiscent of light fragmentation, cloudscapes, and reflective surfaces. Working with various arrangements of triangles, grids, bars, and amorphous colored shapes, Giacomo navigates the space of his pieces like musical arrangement - each possesses a particular visual rhythm.
Giacomo’s solo exhibitions include Museum im Bellpark, Kriens, Switzerland, Galerie Mark Müller, Zürich, Galeria d'Art, Barcelona, Spain, Kunstmuseum Luzern, and Gallery Luis Campaña Berlin, Germany. Group shows include the 2013 Istanbul Biennal, Galata, Istanbul, MuseoCantonale d'Arte, Lugano, 2007 Swiss Art Awards, Messe, Basel, and Kunsthalle Baselland, Baselland. He has received a number of awards including the 2009 Manor Art Prize Central Switzerland and the 2007 Swiss Art Award.
